Supreme Court Lifts Temporary Block on Trump’s Use of Alien Enemies Act to Deport Immigrants, Clears Path to Further Challenges

In its 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court agreed to lift the temporary restraining order (TRO), but explained that “the only question” on which its decision turned is which lower court could hear the challenge. The court found, on venue grounds, that the TRO should be dissolved.
