2025 ACLU-D.C. Annual Membership Meeting Resist and Reimagine: D.C.'s Path Forward Under Trump

Since day one of the second Trump administration, our message has been clear: no president is above the law. Just two days after this administration took office, ACLU-D.C. filed our first lawsuit—and we haven’t stopped since.

Join us for our 2025 annual Membership Meeting to hear how we’re resisting injustice and reimagining a just and free District. This event is open to everyone, regardless of ACLU membership status.

This panel-style event, emceed by top radio personality Angie Ange and will feature ACLU-D.C. legal and policy experts Aditi Shah, Staff Attorney, and Alicia Yass, Supervising Policy Counsel. They’ll be joined by community partners Paula Fitzgerald from Ayuda and Lelaine Bigelow from the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality.

They’ll reflect on key litigation and advocacy efforts during the first year of the Trump Administration, and share a sneak peek at a new report on how D.C. can shift resources toward smarter, community-first public safety solutions. We’ll also take a moment to introduce our incoming 2025–26 ACLU-D.C. Board Members. Light refreshments will be served.

Note: The National Press Club is about a three-minute walk from Metro Center, we are accessible via Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver line trains. There is a parking garage attached to The Warner Building, operated by SP+, with an entrance on 12th St. between E and F St NW. Additional parking is also available at numerous nearby garages.

If you’re not yet an ACLU-D.C. member, become one today.
