Bio
Laura litigates a wide range of civil rights and civil liberties cases, with a particular interest in advocating on behalf of people impacted by the criminal legal system. Prior to joining the ACLU of D.C. as a staff attorney, Laura worked as an associate at a public interest plaintiffs’ firm and as legal fellow with the ACLU of D.C. She also served as a law clerk for Judge Algenon Marbley of the Southern District of Ohio and Judge Joshua Deahl of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Laura graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, summa cum laude, and Harvard Law School, cum laude, where she served as the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project’s co-Executive Director and as an Executive Editor for Online Content for the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.
In her free time, Laura sings with the 18th Street Singers, a local choral ensemble, and enjoys subjecting her friends and family to a wide array of reality television franchises.
