Are you between the ages of 16-25? Do you have a passion for civil liberties and improving your community? The ACLU of the District of Columbia is excited to provide a special opportunity for D.C. youth to attend the membership conference at special discounted rates, see below.
When: June 10-12, 2018
Where: Washington Convention Center - 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, D.C.
The goal of the three-day conference is to bring together ACLU members and activists from across the country for learning, mobilization, inspiration and to have a bit of fun! The program will include opportunities to exchange ideas, learn about the history of the ACLU, engage with other youth and gain insight on current and future civil liberties challenges.
Among others, the conference will feature presentations by:
- Patrisse Cullors, Founder of Black Lives Matter
- Cecile Richards, Former President of Planned Parenthood Federation
- Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director of Equal Justice Initiative
- Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-MA
- Congressman John Lewis, D-GA’s 5th District
- Questlove, DJ, Producer, Drummer for The Roots, and Culinary Entrepreneur

The ACLU is delighted to provide discounted rates for High School and College-age youth (ages 16-25) in order to attend the conference. The subsidized entry will provide full access to each day’s program including the Panel Discussions, Plenary Workshops, Action Center and Dinners.
In addition to the full conference program, the ACLU-DC will also host a Lobby Day training on Monday, June 11, followed by visits to D.C. councilmembers' offices at the Wilson Building. This is a great chance to meet with your councilmembers and talk to them about the issues you care about most!
